Horses cannot be treated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs – NSAIDs (such as phenylbutazone or flunixin meglumine), corticosteroids (such as dexamethasone or triamcinolone), antibiotics (such as trimethoprim sulfa or penicillin), sedatives (such as xylazine or detomidine), or chlorpromazine prior to starting, or during, the trial.
